Description
This Kain Berturus Gedong Daun Inai Tenun Emas is woven using gold thread with a motif of henna leaf water ropes that cover and decorate the body of the fabric. The motif of henna leaves on this songket cloth carries the symbol of paca or henna which is an important tool or material in Malay customs, especially in marriage. Henna used on the feet or fingers symbolizes sweetness, while the red color of henna is used as a belief to ward off the ghost of the devil. Not only that, the henna used in Malay community weddings signifies that a person is already in a bond of love and a symbol of self-care.
